Are These Symptoms Normal After A Tongue Piercing?

I had my tongue pierced for 3 years, I decided to get a second tongue piercing about 2 days ago. Since then I’ve had an ear ache in both ears, mostly the right one, also sore glands, canker sore like pains in my tongue, I don’t remember having this the first time. The swelling is much less this time around as well. Is this normal?
