I was told by a friend of mine that light therapy and negative ion therapy can treat major depression without using medications. I am currently taking 2 medications for my depression but they have side effects and I am not myself. I wonder if anybody out there has use light therapy ? Thanks

You friend is absolutely correct, light therapy & negative ion therapy can heal depression.
I did and know numerous friends who still use this technology to avoid taking medications.
It is the best and natural approach to treat any type of depression.
I personally use the NatureBright SunTouch Plus Light but you have so many choices out there.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W8Y…
Stephen Ilardi is a therapist and researcher at the U of Kansas. He’s a leading expert on how lifestyle affects stress, anxiety and depression. This is what he says in his book The Depression Cure: Light exposure is one of the most important lifestyle factors for staying healthy and recovering from depression. He developed a program with six lifestyle changes.
Healthy lifestyle may not be as good as medicine for your depression, but it won’t hurt. You have a better chance if you go for the whole program not just light.http://www.psych.ku.edu/tlc/Therapeutic%…
Vitamin D deficiency is fairly common, but it’s not the same as light.
It is only highly effective on some people who have a particular cause to their depression, but this is very rare. For most people it is very mild, if even noticeable.
If you can do it cheap, it’s worth a shot.
Vitamin D is what you get from light. Most Americans are deficient, on an epidemic scale. Try a supplement. Not sure about neg ion therapy.
Negative ion therapy will certainly have a positive effect. I can’t say for the light therapy, but I have heard good reports about it.
