I desperately want to start my jr. year in high school as male, aka being identified as male and with male pronouns and name.
School starts the week after next and I have no clue what to do. I know my parents will talk with the school counselor but I’m more worried about other people. Is it best to just show up on the first day and with my teachers knowing to call me by a different name, just let people figure it out themselves? or what?
I don’t have any friends at all, which makes it a lot harder. Any advice?

It’s actually probably easier, and yes I would get the teachers to know to call you by a different name and such. If nobody knows you, then there’s know ‘what gender is it?’ drama.
I would tell a few people before-hand.. do you have a facebook? If not, make one! I’m sure everyone at your school has one.. then a few days before school just announce it on there.. or just show up on the first day. The thing is.. you will probably be picked on, so maybe if you just start a new “page” and go to school as a guy. Then tell your teachers before hand your name and gender.. see if there is a GSA (Gay-Straight-Alliance) at your school. If there isn’t, see if you can start one. I wish you the best of luck!!!

Start school as a boy….don’t budge on it…
Life will be easier if you start before anyone knows you. It won’t be as hard as you think (I coached my best friend though the process, and she turned out fine)
