Yes that’s stupid. You’d think teams would learn not to do this. You see it all the time- the cubs with Soriano, the Yankees with A-rod, etc.
No team should be willing to give him more than 7 years on a contract, and even that’s a big contract.

He’s 31 by the way, and he’ll be 32 in January. So he’ll be 41 when his contract expires. He won’t be producing 30 homers,.300 average, and 100 rbi. At 40 he will be batting under 300, 20 homers, and less than 100 rbi. Pujols will live up to his contract for 4-5 years. But when he gets to 35, he will start to slow down. Just ask a-rod or Thome. So yes, it was a horrible deal. But the Marlins are trying to lure fans. They can’t bring a load of fans in if they give him a 4 or 5 year deal.

I think is alot for him. But If that what It takes to bring him I agree..don’t forget Philly and the marlins are on the same division and Philly are one of the best teams

lol He’ll be 40 by the end of it, broken down no more ability nothing but a has been. Big mistake Marlins, not a good start for a newborn team.

Foolish deal. 10 yrs and a NL team, by the time he hits 35, he’ll need to be a part time DH (if not sooner).
