I have been with my bf for 3 years before he moved across the country with his family. We’ve been together altogether 5 years (2 years long distance). It makes me pretty sad to think that we have separate lives when we used to be together all the time…and because he’s in the military going to schools and deployments, it might not be for another LONG while till we can actually be together.
I plan on finishing my bachelor’s degree within 2 years and being with him in California even if it may only be temporary for a few months or so if he’s deployed. Of course, things change.
I know a couple who met online, visited every 2-3 months (she lived in California, he lived in Ohio..same like me and my bf), got engaged, and now they’re living together after 2 1/2 years of distance.
I know another couple, girl lived in China and he lived here in Ohio. He would visit his family in China during summer time. She lives here now and they’re engaged and going to move back to China. Distance half way around the world for about 1 year or so.
Has Anyone Ever Had A Successful Long Distance Relationship?

Hello, I also live in Ohio and I travel 4000 miles every 4 or so months to see my sweetie. We have been together now for almost 2 years. It is very possible to love someone from afar. We spend our nights on Skype almost every night for a few hours. We are engaged to be married soon with all hopes he will soon be here in the states.
