Having Rapid Heartbeat While Sleep?

it occured last night.. i remember my dream stopped and i woke up because while i was asleep my heart started beating veery fast, i could al most hear it, and i couldnt breathe so well..
i was kinda scared but after 5 minutes or maybe less i think it stopped and i could get no sleep.it was like i had drunk cofee or smthng.. after an hour finally i managed to fall into sleep again.. do you believe that the dream i dreamed caused this rapid heartbeat of mine ( it was not a pleasent dream) or the heartbeat, was the reason i got very anxious and scared and made me dream something bad and after waking up? i have never excperienced this before.. do you know what that is? or if i have any problems? im 17..

It could very well be the dream that caused it. A frequent cause of rapid heart beat (tachycardia) is an anxiety reaction. It’s a very nasty feeling and one trouble with it, is the fear of it happening again can actually cause it to happen again. So, cut back on caffeine before bed, just to be safe, and try not to worry about it. The odds of it being serious are very low and the more you can put it out of your mind, the better off you’ll be. Good luck

It is very possible that your dream or nightmare caused your rapid heartbeat.
If it continues, you may want to see your doctor or a clinic.
    Good Luck.
