I have tried biofeedback, talk therapy, relaxation skill, and psychiatric medication to try and deal with my panic attacks. None of it worked. The best relief I got was from the benzodiazapines (lorazapam, valium, xanax, etc) but this made me so tired and i could not focus in school. However, when I was in my undergrad I was sitting in my neurology class and my teacher told us about the use of Atenolol (a beta blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure) being used off label for the treatment of panic attacks. I tried it and it worked and the beauty of it is it doesn’t make you tired. I feel like a normal person when I am on it and I haven’t had a panic attack since starting it 4 years ago. The only potential problem you would face with this med is if you have low blood pressure it could lower your blood pressure too much and cause dizziness or fainting. But if you have normal blood pressure you can def take it with out getting lightheaded. I would start with a dose of 25 mg and go to 50 mg if you need to. Good luck with your panic attacks and good luck in school.

See a doctor. Only a specialist can indicate you the best meds and techniques to avoid them. Anyway, usually practicing a sport, making friends and keeping yourself occupied and entertained helps a lot easing them.
