If my rate is 1.25 meters a year of tree growth, and at year zero the tree is .25 meters tall, how can I calculate how tall the tree will be at 16 years and 7 months old?
I know that m= 1.25 and b equals .25…..sad, but I don’t know how to calculate this. Thanks for your help.

slope m = 1.25 meters/year
y – y1 = m(x – x1)
y – 0.25 = 1.25(16 + 7/12 – 0)
y = 20.98 meters
EDIT:
“Now, if I wanted to find how old the tree was at say, 4.8 meters, what would I do?”
y – y1 = m(x – x1)
4.8 – 0.25 = 1.25(x – 0)
x = 3.64 years
