I Had Unprotected Sex With An African Man…are These Hiv Symptoms? Thanks!?

I lived in Kenya and had a Kenyan boyfriend I really cared for and trusted. He told me I was only the third girl he had sex with so I thought he was fine. But about one month after we started having unprotected sex I got a fever (102-104), sore throat, cough, and body aches. I went to the doctor who said it was an upper respiratory tract infection and gave me antibiotics which cleared it up immediately. Now I’m back in the US and my new (American) boyfriend is worried about HIV and now I am too! Could that have been early HIV symptoms?? I’m sooo scared! Thanks! PS I’m getting tested next week!

    Antibiotics wouldn’t clear up HIV symptoms.
    If it worries you that much, get yourself tested.

    If that would have been HIV then u would have never recovered from those diseases( because in HIV immunity depletes ..) but u did so it looks like u are HIV negative ….. But i would recommend u to have a check up as well ..

    Why did you believe his ***? NEVER believe men first of all. and even if he did 1 person, 3 people, or 10, it doesn’t make him no safer. DUMMY! if the doc said it was just an infection, then you’re probably okay. get tested anyway

    it don’t Reilly mater how many people you sleep with H.I.V is if Any body fluid gets in your blood you could have H.I.V and the virus can lay dorment in your body for up to seven years.
