I think I have some mental serious problem or something… I am infatuated with blood. I’m not suicidal and I’m not some emo kid who slits his wrists… and I usually think logically before doing anything irrational… but for some reason… I wanted to see how much blood I could see, or draw out of me if I poked a needle into my wrist vein. And now thinking back on it, I honestly don’t know why I did it… but I bled a bit, and got my exciting “high” satisfied, and then I cleaned it up… and now my wrist is stinging with almost unbearable pain… and it has swelled up quite a bit….. is my arm going to fall off now?!?! I put some ice on it to try to reduce the swelling, but it makes the rest of my arm cold, and it tingles… Will I be okay? Will I have a functional arm tomorrow?? …. thank you all..

Im sure you will be fine as long as you dont get a infection. Keep your wrist elevated above your head for 5 minutes, also keep the ice in it. The swelling should soon away
in also take an ibuprofen or tylenol for the pain.
There is a blood vessel in the wrist that if you try to draw blood from it, it will hurt like crazy. I can’t remember what the test was for, buy my husband once had to have a special test done to check something unusual and they had to take the blood from the wrist. The nurse warned him that it would hurt. It seemed fine for a few minutes after she was done, but then it started hurting and burning. It stopped later and everything was fine. You might have hit that in your wrist. Or, maybe you just poked a nerve while you where in there.
Well then. If you poked yourself without sterilizing the needle, then you could pick up loads of nasties. Better hope it’s nothing too serious. I would go to the doctor if I were you though. Reminds me of this lady who caught a flesh eating virus from shaving and then died later.
